PURPOSE: An image display system having a television function and an electronic frame function, and an image display method are provided to execute the television function, electronic frame function and clock function by installing a TV receiver and an optical disk player in the display device. CONSTITUTION: An image display system includes an image display device(221) for displaying an image corresponding to a received video signal, a TV receiver(220) for receiving a sky-wave video signal and outputting the video signal to the image display device, and an optical disk player(222) for reading a video signal stored on an optical disk and outputting the read video signal to the image display device. The system further includes a switch(215) for switching power provided to the image display device, TV receiver and optical disk player, a driving condition detector for detecting driving conditions and operation finishing conditions of the TV receiver, optical disk player and image display device, and a microprocessor(214). The microprocessor drives the TV receiver and image display device when the driving condition detector detects a TV receiving function driving condition but drives the optical disk player and image display device when the driving condition detector detects an electronic frame function driving condition. |
