PURPOSE: To provide a self-washing apparatus of an ionic-water generator, which is able to completely remove scale attached to each components and salts attached to the surface of electrode and sterilize bacteria parasitic on a filter means and various pipe lines, and a method for washing the ionic-water generator using the apparatus. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises a flowing-round pipe (4), one end of which is connected to an acidic water discharge pipe (5) of an electrolyzation means (1) and the other end of which is connected to a water-inlet pipe (7) of the electrolyzation means, valves (9,10) which control flow of the acidic water flowing through the acidic water discharge pipe to allow the acidic water to be periodically or intermittently flown in the flowing-round pipe, and a pump (12) which pressurizes the acidic water to allow the acidic water to be smoothly flown in the water-inlet pipe along the flowing-round pipe.
