Tetrahydronaphthalene derivatives (I) are new. Tetrahydronaphthalene derivatives of formula (I) and their optical isomers and salts are new. R1 = 2-R8-trans-ethylene, 2-R8-ethynylene or naphthalen-2-yl substituted by R7; R2-R5 = H or 1-6C alkyl; or R4+R5 = O; R6 = phenyl, naphthyl, or heterocyclic selected from pyridine, pyrimidine, or thiophene type, optionally substituted at least one of 1-6C alkyl, OR10, halo, CF3, NH2 or mono- or di-(1-6C alkyl)amino; X = Se, CHOH, CH2 or C(O); Q = O, S, CH2, NH, or NR9; R7 = COR11; R8 = phenyl substituted by R12-R14; R9 = 1-6C alkyl; R10 = H or 1-6C alkyl; R11 = OR15 or NR15R16; R12, R13 = H, halo, 1-6C alkyl, or OR17; R14 = C(O)R18; R15-R17 = H or 1-6C alkyl; R18 = OR19 or NR19R20; R19 = H or 1-6C alkyl; and R20 = H, 1-6C alkyl or OH.
