PURPOSE: A digital TV and a channel setting method thereof are provided to automatically set a desired channel, genre and theme when a user sets a channel name. CONSTITUTION: An AV(Audio and Video) switch(102) outputs selectively analog and digital image signals in an image signal inputted by a tuner. An A/D(Analog/Digital) converter(103) receives an analog image signal according to the switching of the AV switch and converts the analog image signal into a digital image signal. A memory(108) stores a menu capable of selecting a channel label. An image signal processing member(104) receives a set menu stored to the memory or an image signal output from the A/D converter and then processes the received signal into a signal capable of displaying on a screen. A microcomputer(107) matches the selected channel label with the previously stored corresponding index with reference to the produced menu and controls setting of genre. |
