The metal or ceramic material, principally a nickel- and/or cobalt-based alloy (quasi) exempt of oxide, contains particles of solid lubricant forming more than 10 per cent of its volume, inner closed pores that give a porosity below the percolation threshold, and surface cavities with walls that are subject to wear by abrasion. The material is e.g. a metal alloy such as NiCrAl or MCrAlY, where M = Ni and/or Co, or a ceramic based on zirconia (ZrO2), alumina (Al2O3) or silicon carbide (SiC). The solid lubricant particles are of boron nitride or graphite with a diameter of 5 - 100 mcm, the closed pores have a diameter of 10 - 150 mcm, and the surface cavities have a diameter of 0.5 - 3 mcm.
|
