The channel bundling method has the incoming frames of a data transmission embedded in the existing sequence by inversion of the information in the zero time slot, the number of time slots being a multiple of 2 lying between 3 and 89, with a frame duration of 250 microseconds, one of the time slots having an 8-bit field for a management channel (M). The information required for the channel bundling is transmitted in the zero time slot signal word, e.g. the non-frame-alignment signal (NFAS).
