<p>The cable (1) has an outer sheathing (6) enclosing a number of relatively insulated cable conductors (3,4,5) and at least one elongate light-emitting element (2), which is activated by application of an electrical voltage, the outer sheathing being at least partially transparent. A control circuit for the light-emitting element can be provided between the cable conductors and the light-emitting element.
