PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply obtain the high reliability evaluation result of a die cast release agent or lubricant at a low cost. SOLUTION: The planar part of a heated metal block 1 is coated with a release agent or lubricant 4, and a cylindrical metal block 2 is placed on the coated metal block 1 so as to close the lower end part of the metal block 2. Molten aluminum 5 is injected in the metal block 2 and is actually solidified, to mold an aluminum casting 6. As a result, the baking properties of the die cast release agent or lubricant 4 can be evaluated, under the conditions nearer to those at actual die casting. After molten aluminum 5 has solidified, the metal block 2 is pulled, and the tensile force thereof is measured, when the metal block 2 and the aluminum casting 6 in the metal block 2 begin to move on the planar surface of the metal block 1. Accordingly, evaluation of the die cast release agent or lubricant, based on stationary friction force can be added to the evaluation of the lubricity thereof. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
