PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To expand a range of variation absorption by enabling the utilization of the whole sliding groove of a holder. SOLUTION: An expansion joint has the holders 6 which are mounted at intervals on supporting members 5 provided in both rising skeletons facing each other with a space in between and a cover material for covering the space attached to the holder. The holder 6 is composed of a holder body 6a wherein two parallel grooves 10 and 26 provided in its longitudinal direction, and locking pieces 11 which are attached to both sides of the holder body 6a by insertion; the supporting members 5 are turnably attached to rail parts 8 which are in the longitudinal direction of both the rising skeletons 2 and 3; the locking piece 11 is inserted into one groove 26 of the holder; and the supporting member 5 is slidably attached to the other groove 10.
