PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating finish having designing properties which are relatively easily reproducible not by a skillful coating craftsman but even by an ordinary person. SOLUTION: In the first stage, a base coating material is applied to form a base layer. In the second stage, a coating material in which the grain size of an aggregate, the weight ratio in the solid contents of the aggregate/synthetic resin emulsion, the total solid content and coating material viscosity lie in specified ranges is applied to the surface of the base layer. In the third stage, while the base layer is still in an undry state, a linear pattern is formed on the surface of the coating film against the face in contact with the coating face by using a finishing fixture with a plurality of pawls.
