PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an incubator rapidly changing temperature and having excellent durability. SOLUTION: The incubator is designed to maintain a sample at a prescribed temperature. The incubator is characterized in that a heat conductive holder for holding each vessel for housing the sample, a heater arranged in a position for conducting heat to the heat conductive holder and heating the heat conductive holder and a cooling pipe arranged in a position for conducting a low temperature to the heat conductive holder and making a liquid cooled and prepared for cooling the heat conductive holder flow therethrough.
