The finishing machine has a machine stand (14) with vertically aligned support face (16) for the workpiece (12) and a bridge (18) movable relative to the support face and provided with a finishing head (20) and at least one holding-down unit (34) which during machining presses the workpiece against the support face. The finishing machine has a tool changer for the finishing head. The tool changer is movable with and relative to the bridge and supports the holding down unit.
