<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk drive and a laser output control method for accurately controlling various laser output values necessary for recording, playing back and erasing the optical disk in a simple constitution. <P>SOLUTION: The optical disk drive for accurately controlling the various laser output values in a simple constitution is provided in the manner of furnishing a laser output control means for controlling the driving current supplied to a semiconductor laser, a measuring means for measuring the correlation value between at least two laser output set values among preset laser outputs and the driving current for obtaining the laser output at the recording of the information to the optical disk, a storage means for storing the measured correlation value, and an arithmetic means for calculating the changing amount of the laser output per a unit current from the stored correlation value and also calculating the driving current value for obtaining other laser output values to be used at the recording of the information to the optical disk from the changing amount and the stored optional correlation value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
