<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simply structured and compact card connector with the small number of components for preventing the insertion of a card whose thickness is thinner than predetermined thickness. <P>SOLUTION: Both right and left guide parts 2a and 2a of a frame 2 of a card connector 1 are mounted with insertion permission/inhibition selecting members 3 for inhibiting the insertion of a card 12 whose thickness is thinner than predetermined thickness into the connector. A pair of elastic deformable inside drawing pieces(card thickness directional position regulating pieces) 3b and 3b are formed so as to be extended from the both upper and lower parts of a U-shaped base part 3a of the selecting member 3, and an elastic deformable selecting piece 3c is formed so as to be extended from the side part of the base part. An annular opening 3c1 is formed at the center of the selecting piece. When a card 11 with predetermined thickness is inserted into the both guide parts, each selecting piece is deformed outward by the respective side faces of the card with the predetermined thickness so that the card with the predetermined thickness can be further inserted, and connected to the connector. When a thin card is inserted into the both guide parts, the front edge face of the thin card is butted to one edge of the opening of each selecting piece.
