<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more realistically reproduce the texture of an object including highlighting light such as metallic luster. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing method and a program for executing the method specify at least one area in an image, find highlight values of each pixel in the specified area and highlight values of each pixel in an area other than the specified area, decide gradation variation characteristics to be applied to each specified area from each highlight value, and convert pixel values in each area according to the decided gradation variation characteristics. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
