STEERING CONTROLLING DEVICE FOR VEHICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering control device for a vehicle capable of precluding displacement of a neutral position at the time of changing the gradient of the amount of steering with respect to the amount of operation and generating a smooth sense of manipulation. SOLUTION: The steering control device for the vehicle includes a controller 10 which changes once the gearing ratio characteristic from the gearing ratio characteristic to become zero in the amount of steering when the amount of operation is zero and sets the gearing ratio characteristic whereto the characteristic from the same amount of steering as the final amount of steering in the initial gearing ratio characteristic is tied with the final amount of steering set by the changed gearing ratio characteristic in case the amount of operation has increased when restitution is made again to the original gearing ratio characteristic.
