PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for operating a machine of tobacco processing industry, imparting a good functionality, particularly when a paper tear occurs between a fixing point and a formatting belt. SOLUTION: The invention relates to the method for operating a machine of tobacco processing industry, wherein at least one wrapping material tape 10 for wrapping a rod 12 of smokeable material or filter material is fixed on at least one position 14 settable in a conveyor path between a wrapping material tape supply 17 and the formatting device 19, 20 of the machine, and then is conveyable from the settable position.
