IMAGE READING APPARATUS AND IMAGE READING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more surely and accurately detect the brightness of a subject. SOLUTION: An image reading apparatus 1 is provided with an image reader 11 for picking up an image of a subject 785 irradiated with light from an environment and a plurality of brightness detectors 6-1 and 6-2 for measuring the brightness of the subject 7. The brightness detectors 6-1 and 6-2 are arranged in the vicinity of a position where the subject 7 is arranged from the image reader 11. The image reader 11 detects the brightness of the subject 7 to enable the image reading apparatus 1 to more accurately measure the brightness of the subject 7.
