In vitrodiagnosis of glioma or astrocyoma comprising detecting circulating glioma or astrocytoma cells in a blood sample, as an indication of the presence of a primary tumor, is new. An independent claim is also included for a pharmaceutical composition for treatment of glioma or astrocytoma, or their relapses, comprising a heat-shock protein (hsp) expressed by glioma or astrocyoma cells, particularly hsp 70, 90, 104, 60 and/or 27.
