摘要

PURPOSE: A device and a method for displaying an input Korean character by converting into English/special characters in a mobile communication terminal are provided to input English characters and special characters mapped with Korean characters in a Korean alphabet input mode, and to write a short message without another character mode conversion, thereby reducing time required for writing the short message. CONSTITUTION: A controller(170) applies a control signal to a memory(150) so as to read an English character corresponding to a Korean character by confirming the inputted Korean character or to read a special character. The memory(150) maps the Korean character with the English character or the special character, and stores the mapped character. A key input unit(140) includes a functional key for converting the inputted Korean character into the English character or the special character. A display(160) displays the inputted Korean character as the mapped English character or the special character according to the functional key.
