<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direct backlight device with little uneven luminance in relation to the direct backlight device used for a liquid crystal display device. <P>SOLUTION: In the backlight device equipped with a light guide plate 10 having a light incident plane and a light emitting plane placed opposite to each other, at least a light source 14 to emit light toward the light guide plate 10 and a circuit substrate 15 to mount the light source 14 thereon, the light guide plate 10 is equipped with a diffusion part 13 with a recess 13a arranged on a position corresponding to the light source 14 of the light incident plane 18 and a light guide part 21 with a protrusion 22 protruding from the recess 13a of the diffusion part 13 toward a direction of the light source 14. The protrusion 22 of the light guide part 21 has a light receiving part 22a opposite to the light source and a slope 22b of which the outer shape is enlarged as going from an outer circumference of the light receiving part 22a into a direction opposite to the light source 14. The recess 13a of the diffusion part 13 has a junction part 23 connecting to an outer circumference 21a of the light guide part 21 and a slope part formed so as to make the inner shape be enlarged as going from the junction part 23 to the light incident plane. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
