摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight structure for which costs of materials to be used for an FPC (flexible printed circuit) are reduced without producing a conductive defect. <P>SOLUTION: In a liquid crystal display device with a backlight attached thereto, a light diffusion sheet 42, a light guide plate 43 and a light reflector 44 with a notch part 44a to insert an LED 34 thereinto are laminated and mounted on the lower face side of the liquid crystal display device 10 via a holding frame 41 with a first opening consisting of a slit. On a strip shaped FPC 31, a nearly T shaped or unciform protrusion 31e laterally ramifying from a side thereof is arranged. At least one of the LED 34 is mounted on the side of a tip 31g of the T shaped or unciform protrusion 31e. The protrusion 31e is twisted by 90&deg; and bent. The tip 31g of the protrusion 31e is put in the first opening 41b of the holding frame 41 and is fixed with an adhesive tape 45 and the LED 34 is projected from the notch part 44a of the reflector 44 and arranged on the side face of the light guide plate 43. Also a recess or a second opening is arranged on the lower face of the holding frame 41 corresponding to a position where the bent part of the protrusion 31e is placed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
