<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting control system which surely controls a lighting mode according to purposes such as light reduction control, thinned-out lighting of lighting fittings, and lighting of emergency aisles which are conducted at power failures and other cases. <P>SOLUTION: The lighting control system comprises a detecting means 5 to detect the brightness of an illuminated area by a lighting fitting, an upper control unit 2 to transmit a brightness target value, and a lighting control unit 3 to control the light output of the lighting fitting 4 by comparing the brightness detected by the detecting means 5 with the target value transmitted by the upper control unit 2.
