PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base for a liquid crystal TV by which the light source of the liquid crystal TV is used for another purpose, while appreciating watching the TV without deteriorating the picture quality of the TV. SOLUTION: The base for the liquid crystal TV includes a prism lens 4 for collecting light to be radiated backward in the opposite direction of a liquid crystal panel 11 among the light to be radiated from a tubular back light 13a which is exposed via the opening part 12a of a liquid crystal panel storage 12, and guiding it toward a base part 1; a collimator lens 5 for paralleling the light guided to the base part by the prism lens 4; a reflection board 6 for reflecting the light paralleled by the collimator 5 to the front side of the base part 1; and a display unit 2 for performing displaying by the radiation of the light which is reflected against the reflection board 6.
