PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an environment in which a user can comfortably perform various operations during viewing content when the user views the content with a portable device. SOLUTION: The receiver is provided with a content input means for inputting content data to be supplied from a connected recording/reproducing apparatus, a content transmitting means for transmitting the inputted content data to a display apparatus, a storage means for storing a plurality of application programs corresponding to the type of the recording/reproducing apparatus, and an application transmitting means for transmitting the application programs to the display terminal device. The application transmitting means is constituted so that it transmits the application program selected from the plurality of application programs to the display terminal device on the basis of the type of the recording/reproducing apparatus supplying content data to the content input means.
