REMOTE MONITORING AND CONTROL SYSTEM FOR EXCAVATOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the remote monitoring and remote control of an operation of a large-sized excavator, wherever excavation is performed and wherever a service person is, and to easily investigate and cope with the cause of the occurrence of a failure. SOLUTION: The excavator is equipped with a remote monitoring and control system which comprises: an operation data collection device for collecting various kinds of operation data required for the monitoring and control of the operation of the excavator; a transmission-side modem for converting the collected operation data into data capable of being structurally transmitted by a cellular phone; a data transmitter for transmitting the converted data to the service person; a data receiver for receiving the transmitted data; a receiver-side modem for inversely converting the received data into data capable of being structurally displayed on a display unit; and the display unit for displaying the inversely converted operation data.
