<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery having high capacity and superior stability in charging and discharging cycle. <P>SOLUTION: The secondary battery includes at least a positive electrode, a negative electrode and an electrolyte as constituents. The secondary battery uses a compound, having a partial structure represented by general formula (1) in its structure as at least one active material of the positive electrode and the negative electrode. In the general formula (1), at least one among R<SP>1</SP>-R<SP>4</SP>is a substituent represented by general formula (2), and the other substituents each independently represents hydrogen atom, halogen atom, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkoxy group, a substituted or unsubstituted aryloxy group, or cyano group, etc. In the general formula (2), R<SP>5</SP>is a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group, or a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic heterocycle group, etc. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
