摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compact and highly rigid intake manifold which does not cause an increase in pressure loss of intake air or the turbulence of intake air, resulting from excessive bending of a port, and to obtain the intake manifold having a small number of component parts. <P>SOLUTION: In the intake manifold 10, an upper portion of a surge tank 14 is located at a height substantially equal to those of a plurality of suction holes 12A, 12B and 12C of a mounting flange 12, and is disposed near the suction hole 12A on the outermost side along the direction of arrangement (the direction indicated by an arrow D). Accordingly, because the surge tank 14 does not become an obstacle to arrangement of respective ports 20, 30 and 40, the intake manifold can be made compact, and it is not required to provide excessively bent portions in the respective ports 20, 30 and 40. Further, the intake manifold 10 is formed by joining and securing an upper component 10A, an intermediate component 10B, and a lower component 10C to one another.
