<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an abrasive composition for a magnetic disk base, capable of decreasing roughness of a surface of the magnetic disk base, without forming protrusions, nor abrasion marks, and capable of realizing recording with high density, without causing adhered residual matter on the surface, and further capable of abrading the base at an economical speed. <P>SOLUTION: The abrasive composition contains water, abrasive grains, an abrasion accelerator, and a surface cleaning agent, wherein the surface cleaning agent comprises at least one kind of compound having two or more hydroxy groups on its 2-6C main chain which may contain oxygen (such as glycerol, ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol, triethylene glycol, and propylene glycol). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
