PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video recording system which can easily specify a user who reserves recording for each video data irrespective of the state of recording reservation, adds its user information to index information of each video data, and can easily arrange for each user of the video data recorded by a plurality of the users. SOLUTION: The video recording system includes a transmitter/receiver 21 which receives the information transmitted from the user via a communication network 7 to reserve the recording of the video data; an electronic mail inspecting unit 26 for adding specified user's user information to reservation information, based on information by retrieving the presence of a keyword registered for each user in advance to the information received by the transmitter/receiver 21, and specifying the user; and a controller 27 for adding the user information to video data to be recorded, based on the reservation information formed by an electronic main inspecting unit 26.
