<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for detecting cochannel interference and selectively filtering it. <P>SOLUTION: In detecting the existence of an analog TV signal (for example, NTSC signal), which is in the same channel as a DTV signal and causes interference, is verified by detecting the existence of the analog SYNC signal in a received signal bandwidth.
