PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and inexpensive automatic manuscript feeding device having a simplified configuration. SOLUTION: In a conveyance passage for guiding a manuscript in an automatic manuscript feeding device 10, there are provided a resist sensor 32 for detecting the end of the manuscript fed to a paper feeding passage 24, a lead sensor 33 that is provided on this side of contact glass 2 and detects the end of the document, and a discharge sensor 34 for detecting the end of the manuscript discharged from the contact glass 2. The resist sensor 32 comprises a lever type sensor having a sensor lever 32 and a photointerrupter 36 for detecting the movement of the sensor lever 32. The discharge sensor 34 has a sensor lever 34 and the movement of the sensor lever 34 is detected by the photointerrupter 36.
