PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct colors of a moving picture so as to obtain proper display quality in response to the kind of the moving picture. SOLUTION: An RUV/RGB conversion processing section 15 acquires a value of an R signal from a LUT storing values of R signals in response to the values of Y and V signals, acquires the value of a B signal from a LUT storing values of B signals in response to the values of the Y and V signals, and acquires the value of a G signal by applying shift arithmetic operation and addition / subtraction to the Y, U, and V signals. An optimum table selection processing section 19 selects a color correction table 17 that is most suitable from a management table 18 on the basis of the genre information and program description information extracted by an EPG extract processing section 14, and transmits the table information to an RGB color correction processing section 16. The RGB color correction processing section 16 generates a lookup table according to the color correction information, applies color correction to the received video signal in an RGB space and outputs the corrected video signal to a liquid crystal display apparatus 20.
