PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information display device in which the need for processing is eliminated, such as re-edition of display data and transfer of the data dividedly a plurality of times in the case of trouble of a display unit and high-speed transfer of display data is possible while suppressing an increase in the burden on a controller even in the case of a scroll display or animation image display for which the high-speed transfer is necessary. SOLUTION: In the information display device in which a plurality of display units 121to 12narranged with display elements, such as light emitting diodes vertically and transversely in a matrix form are connected in series and which displays a series of characters and graphics by controlling lighting of the respective display elements in the display units by a controller 11, the device is provided with a transfer pulse control circuit 13 which temporarily stops the transfer pulse during a delivery period to the display data of the display unit having the trouble and shift register disconnecting circuits 14 which disconnect a shift register from the data transfer line at the occurrence of the trouble and bypasses and connects the data transfer line directly to the display unit of the next stage disposed in the respective display units 121to 12n.
