PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical receptacle for enabling the assembling of an inexpensive and small-type optical communication module. SOLUTION: The optical receptacle is comprised of a built-in ferrule 21 in which an optical fiber 20 is attached at the center part, a split sleeve 22, a sleeve case 23, and a ferrule holder 24, and is characterized in that the ferrule holder 24 has a hole at the center through which a capillary 21 can penetrate, being formed with a depressed hollow for inserting a sleeve case 23 thereinto prepared on one face concentrically with the hole; the split sleeve 22 is arranged outside of the built-in ferrule 21 inserted through the hole of the ferrule holder 24; outside thereof, the sleeve case 23 is inserted in the hollow of the ferrule holder 24; the split sleeve 22 is positioned inside thereof; and the optical fiber 20, the built-in ferrule 21, and the ferrule holder 24 are fixed with low-melting glass for an airtight structure.
