PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radial ply pneumatic tire equipped with an enhanced durability while it can exert an excellent vibration performance and noise performance. SOLUTION: The radial-ply pneumatic tire includes carcass cords 10 each formed as a two-component twined cord consisting of the first 10A and the second strand 10B made from polyethylene 2, 6 naphthalate fibers. The sub-twining number n1 of the first strand 10A is 15-40 pcs/10 cm, while the sub-twining direction of the second strand 10B should be the same as that of the first 10A and the sub-twining number n2 be 1.1-1.5 times as large as n1.
