PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaft joint device for a vehicle steering device capable of preventing from being restrained by restriction of a vehicle layout at a low cost. SOLUTION: This shaft joint device 1 is coupled to a lower end side of a steering column 52; and is provided with a constant velocity ball universal joint 2 on an upper side, a cross shaft universal joint 4 on a lower side, and an intermediate shaft 3 for connecting the shaft joints in an intermediate part. In the shaft joint device 1, a large part of an intersection angle required as a whole is shared to an intersection angleαof the constant velocity ball universal joint 2, and an intersection angleβof the cross shaft universal joint 4 is reduced. Thereby, torque variation caused by the cross shaft universal joint 4 is substantially bypassed, and deterioration of steering feeling can be prevented while the inexpensive cross shaft universal joint 4 is used.
