PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire saw low in cost on which a core bar does not rotate in a circumference of a wire rope even when connecting force of the core bar and the wire rope is lost in the middle of cutting by connecting the wire saw to the wire rope by connecting the core bar supporting a cutting blade tool and a compression spring. SOLUTION: A covering layer 2 is made of synthetic resin or rubber to be covered along overall length on an outer peripheral surface 3 of the wire rope 1. The metallic cylindrical core bar 4 is provided with the cutting blade tool 5 on an outer peripheral surface 6 and is buried in the covering layer 2 with a specified interval in the longitudinal direction of the wire rope 1 which is passed through this metallic cylindrical core bar 4. The compression spring 7 is buried in the covering layer 2 between each of the metallic cylindrical core bars 4 and wound around the wire rope 1, both ends 8, 8 are connected to both ends 9, 9 of the metallic cylindrical core bar 4 or an end 10 is connected to an end 11 of the metallic cylindrical core bar 4. It is possible to restrain rotating force working on the cutting blade tool 5 and the metallic cylindrical core bar 4 and to prevent lowering of cutting work efficiency and damage, breakage, etc., of the wire rope 1.
