PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water treatment material which has a high water treatment efficiency and is easy of maintenance. SOLUTION: The water treatment material is constituted so that a lumpy body floating on water to be treated and freely altered in its immersion posture in water to be treated is provided or a lumpy body floating on water to be treated and capable of keeping an immersion posture thereof with respect to the water to be treated is provided, the lumpy body is formed of a transparent material and a photooxidizing catalyst part 2 is provided to the immersion surface in water to be treated of the lumpy body.
