The infusion unit for administering infusion fluids incorporates a hoselike valve body (15) which is made of an elastomeric plastic material of appropriate Shore hardness and wall thickness, so that over a specified length (L) the valve walls are in full area contact with one another. Under the effect of gravity the infusion fluid passes the valve to enter into the patient's vein, but flow of the patient's blood in the opposite direction is reliably prevented.
