PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide calcium phosphate glass necessary for producing calcium phosphate fibers useful as a filler or a reinforcement for plastics, rubbers, etc., and as a heat insulation material, a friction-resistant material, and a material for living bodies. SOLUTION: The calcium phosphate glass has a CaO/P<SB>2</SB>O<SB>5</SB>molar ratio of 0.7-1 and contains, in addition to CaO and P<SB>2</SB>O<SB>5</SB>, at least one kind selected from among SiO<SB>2</SB>, Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, Fe<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, MgO, and ZnO. The content of (SiO<SB>2</SB>+Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>+Fe<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>+MgO+ZnO) in the glass is 0.01-3 wt%, and the glass contains 0.3 wt.% or less SiO<SB>2</SB>, 0.3 wt% or less Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 0.4 wt.% or less Fe<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 1.0 wt% or less MgO, and 1.0 wt% or less ZnO.
