PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method selectively and simply separating and extracting a sialic acid-containing oligosaccharide having various physiological functions in high purity and high yield without complicated process. SOLUTION: The method for producing the sialic acid-containing oligosaccharide comprises treating an oligosaccharide fraction in which a lipid and a protein are removed from milk with activated carbon column chromatography. According to the present invention, the sialic acid-containing oligosaccharide can simply be obtained in high purity and high yield and a plurality of compounds which are sialic acid-containing oligosaccharides can readily be separated and extracted and can be applied to various research materials and foods, etc., as purified products having high purity.
