The invention relates to a position sensor of the type comprising an encoder, formed by a multipolar magnetic ring (1), provided on the circumference thereof with alternate north poles and south poles and mounted to run in front of a measuring cell (2), whereby at least one of said poles of a fixed sign is deemed irregular and comprises, in particular, means for correction of the value of the magnetic field thereof such as to stabilise the magnetic signal provided by means of the passage of the poles adjacent to said irregular pole. According to the invention, the measuring cell (2) is sensitive to the tangential component of the magnetic field provided by the poles, the correction means are produced by means of a surface zone (4) of the irregular pole (Pi) surrounded by a connection pole (5), for the adjacent poles, of the same sign as the adjacent poles, the correction means (3) being embodied such that the tangential magnetic signal, generated by the passage of each adjacent pole around said irregular pole, varies in a monotone manner. |
