An aid for foot treatment has an open topped U-shaped block with a raised edge (5) along both sides and around the curved heel and into which the foot is placed and secured by an elastic strap (15). The block is made of waterproof plastic enabling the heel and sole to be coated with a solution for softening hard skin. While waiting for the solution to take effect the exposed toes, which extend over the front of the block, can be treated, e.g. nail cutting and filing, cuticle clearing etc. The support surface of the block can be covered with a soft plastic inlay .
