Each mesh (7-9) includes two wefts (4, 5) which are knitted in with each other, to form a zigzag structure extending from one mesh (7-9) to a diagonally-opposite mesh. Continuous wefts (2) pass through the mesh structure. Each mesh (8, 9) is surrounded by a warp thread (7) : Edge registration of each mesh is effected by a warp forming a looped structure. The knit of the net structure is continued at the edge as a reinforcing strip, formed by increasing the density of the structure itself, in that region. The edge may be repeatedly over-knitted. The continuous wefts (2) are bound by looped structures at intersections with the warps. At the binding points, individual wefts are held against displacement. Three wefts participate in mesh formation.
