<p>A dental cleaning composition which includes a chewable carrier material that is not a gum or foam and which is not readily soluble or dispersible in the mouth, a cleansing agent which is non foaming, a barrier material and/or anticariogenic or antibacterial agents. The tablet can be used with a chewable dental strip made from an open cell foam.</p>
