<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner structured to eliminate dust in a filter by a brush of a filter cleaning part built in an air conditioner body and enhanced in cleaning capacity to remove even viscous dirt adhering to the filter. <P>SOLUTION: Since dust sticks to the upper face on the air suction side of the filter 5, a second cleaning brush 18 in a top cover 19 constituting the upper part of a dust collecting box 13a is provided with an exciting means composed of a mounting pedestal 20 provided with a permanent magnet 21, an electromagnetic box 22 holding the mounting pedestal 20 and provided with an electromagnet 23 corresponding to the permanent magnet 21, and a support 16 hanging from an internal wall of the top cover 19 to support the electromagnetic box 22, wherein the polarity of the electromagnet 23 is repeatedly reversed to apply vibration.
