<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a numerical controller allowing acquisition of machining state information associated with a machining part, and allowing easy analysis of the information. <P>SOLUTION: Codes Gm, Gn commanding a sampling start and end of the machining state information acquisition are provided. A command of the sampling start command Gm, a period Aa of a sampling, a start condition (movement distance, movement time or the like) Bb, and a value (a value of the distance, the time or the like) of the start, Cc corresponding to the start condition is programmed (Gm Aa Bb Cc) before a block for obtaining the machining state information. When the command is read and when coinciding with the value of Cc designated in Bb, the sampling is performed at the period commanded by the command Aa to obtain the machining state information, and machining part information is obtained and stored. When the code Gn is read, the sampling ends.
