PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric washing machine capable of reducing the damage, entangling and uneven washing of the laundry. SOLUTION: The electric washing machine has an oblong projection 4b on the inner wall of a washing/spin-drying tub 4. The laundry is washed in the washing/spin-drying tub with blades 6 set at the center of the washing/spin-drying tub in the inactive state, and is centrifugally drained by rotating the washing/spin-drying tub at high speed with the blades in the rotatable state.
