PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing isobutene improving its selectivity, yield, energy consumption and inputted cost. SOLUTION: This method for producing isobutene is provided by dissociating tert-butanol to isobutene and water on a strongly acidic ion exchange resin arranged as a fixed bed in at least one reactor at 80-150°C temperature and under 5-25 bar pressure, separating the reaction mixture to isobutene, byproducts, water and at least 1 kind of a mixture of un-dissociated tert-butanol and water, operating the reaction vessel pseude-isothermally and setting <15 K temperature difference between flowing-in stream and flowing-out stream.
